 The first Spiderman Issue tells us the now well known backstory. Peter Parker is a young boy living with his uncle and aunt. He is y bitten by a radioactive spider and gains superpowers. In his own words, as he is showing off, his uncle is shot and killed in a freak incident involving a burglar. Spiderman uses his superpowers to apprehend the culprit, but the Parker family fall into bad times after the sole breadwinner is shot and killed. Interesting point here, that's the end of the story in the original plot.

It is interesting to see the first look of the Spiderman, which seem to have undergone only one cosmetic change through the decades. In this version, the Spidey suit has wing like webbing under the biceps, giving Spiderman a bird like look when he swings from one place to another.

Interestingly, Peter Parker also has thoughts about using his superpowers for the wrong reasons, like stealing money from a bank or something - but that's just a passing thought. And then, there's the small thing about Spiderman realising that he cannot actually make any money legally with his persona, because how will he encash a check that's written to Spiderman?

Peter tries to look for a job, but nobody wants to hire a young boy.Things take a worse turn when he one day sees that his Aunt May is pawning her jewelry, He decides to play some stunts, but enter Jameson, the newspaper editor who has a special kind and amount of spite for Spiderman.

In this story,t Jameson doesn't like Spiderman because he isn't too happy with the kind of adulation that Spiderman is getting from the people, and thinks that his spaceman son is the one who should get that kind of attention. Things come to a head when Jameson Jr. suffers a botched space project.

The army has no other option but to take Spiderman's help, even as Jameson tries to convince the army that Spiderman is the actual problem.

Of course, instead of getting adulation, Jameson starts propaganda against him, and maybe this is what starts the fight between the two.
